We love all three entries in Tokyo Kodo's Transcendent Aroma series, and Sacred Wood is no different. A heady palo santo leads the way here, but an undercurrent of pine keeps this incense from tipping into head shop kitsch. Many folk purify their spaces with palo santo, and we're not saying no. But we find this stick pretty enlivening, so we recommend it not so much for fading a way, but leaning in. Active listening to what's coming through the speakers, the Saturday crossword (it's a tough one!), or nourishing conversation are on the docket when we reach for Sacred Wood.
